Sustainability Report 2017
The TEXAID management approach contains several other components: Employee development, work safety and health protection are based on strategic measures (such as social compliance) and implementation is con- trolled by the human resource departments of the respective subsidiaries. The company’s envi- ronmental and energy policies, internal environ- mental workshops and management regarding environmental issues play an important role when taking environmental-related decisions. Both ap- proaches are governed by specialists in the indi- vidual countries. In particular, when it comes to environmental, climate, quality, and risk manage- ment, a department on group level is responsible to align all activities and to implement the appro- priate strategic social and ecological measures. While these issues apply to the entire TEXAID va- lue chain, the varying maturity levels of the sub- sidiaries make it necessary for measures to be implemented gradually. This is also true for data availability and scheduled or already implemen- ted measures. The subsidiaries in Switzerland and Germany are further advanced with the implementation of measures than the other subsidiaries. Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Morocco will however be able to build on the findings of TEXAID Switzerland and TEXAID Germany. “ While working with our partners, credibility and transpa- rency are of the essence. Our collaboration with TEXAID is a perfect example of how these qualities can help benefit the community.” Barbara Darani, Freienbach Town Council 14
